We are a small team on an ambitious mission, to support as many children as possible as they learn to read. To continue to develop and expand the Teach Your Monster offering, we must raise more revenue, as the current model does not enable us to maintain and update a now 14-year-old app. Rebuilding the game from the ground up with new design, code and software gives us the foundations to make the changes needed and allow us to keep on helping children for years to come, building new features and incorporating the latest learning approaches.
We have had to take a long hard look at the best way to do this, while still fulfilling our objective – which is to provide children across the world with the ability to learn reading using excellent, engaging, and age-appropriate materials. We understand that the current economic climate is difficult for everyone, but we do not have the resources to achieve our goals without changing our pricing structure. There will be special offers and the new game will be free to access in schools.
We use subscriptions so we can run Teach Your Monster in a way that matches our values - and so we can be here for the long term.
A subscription allows us to keep our games:
Ad-free and distraction-free
We don’t show ads in the games, and we don’t rely on advertising revenue. Children can play without being nudged, tracked, or targeted by other organisations.
Privacy-first and safe
We don’t sell data or use invasive tracking. We invest a lot of time and care into keeping things secure, appropriate, and child-friendly.
High quality and carefully made
Every game is built, tested and improved with care. We work with experts, listen closely to feedback, and only release things we have evidence are genuinely helpful.
Fairly and creatively supported
Our games are made by real people (designers, illustrators, animators, writers, and educators) who are paid fairly for their work.
Sustainable
Subscriptions help cover the real cost of building, testing, maintaining and improving these safe and secure apps over time, without relying on ads, shortcuts, or external pressures.
