What you need to know
Existing Teach Your Monster to Read app users get access free of charge.
For the first time ever, schools worldwide get free access on both app and web.
The web version remains free for everyone on desktop.
The new app version will be available via subscription for new users.
This approach helps us remain sustainable while continuing to create impact through our mission of helping millions of children around the world learn to read.
Why are we making these changes?
Teach Your Monster exists to help children learn through healthy, safe and engaging educational games.
We're not owned by shareholders and we're not here to generate profits for investors. Our work is supported by the Usborne Foundation charity and by revenue from our apps. Anything we make beyond our essential running costs is reinvested into creating, developing and maintaining our educational games and supporting the Foundation's charitable mission.
Creating, updating and maintaining safe, high-quality, ad-free learning games comes with ongoing costs. To ensure we can continue improving Teach Your Monster for years to come, the new version will introduce a subscription for new users whilst all existing Teach Your Monster to Read app users get access free of charge.
