Can I use Clever with Teach Your Monster?
Whilst Teach Your Monster is not currently integrated with Clever rostering or Clever Single Sign On, it is possible to set up website login through your Clever portal using Clever’s SSO (Saved Passwords) method in conjunction with the steps below. This will require some set up by your administrator.
Please note that since this is an application created and maintained by Clever, Teach Your Monster can only provide limited support. If you encounter any issues, please reach out to Clever’s support team who will be happy to help you - you can contact them here.
How to set up Clever SSO (Saved Passwords) for Teach Your Monster
Logging a Student into Teach Your Monster requires the following information:
Your account’s unique class code (this is autofilled when you use your ‘student quick login link’ URL)
Player’s name
Optional password
This means that to set up the application in your Clever portal so that your students don't need to login to Teach Your Monster requires pre setting the login URLs within Clever to use your ‘student quick login link’ URLs (in the format www.teachyourmonster.org/u/YOURCLASSCODE). Follow the steps below to get set up.
1. First you’ll need to have your ‘Student quick login link’ URL ready. To find it, login to your account via our website and click the ‘student quick login link’ button that appears at the top of your dashboard (as shown in the image below):
When the page loads, you can copy your URL from your browser’s search bar. It will use this format www.teachyourmonster.org/u/YOURCLASSCODE
2. Navigate to Teach Your Monster's profile page in your Clever District Dashboard.
3. On this page, you will see a box labeled 'School specific data'. In that box, click on the link to 'Modify data' (see orange arrow in the image above).
4. On the next screen, paste the URL of your ‘student quick login link’ from step 1 into the URL field. Be sure to save your changes.
Can I use Clever to login to Teach Your Monster apps?
As our apps do not currently support Clever login, it is not possible to login using Clever’s SSO (Saved Passwords) method. If you attempt to login to our apps using this method, Clever will list them as ‘unsupported’. This does no mean that our apps don’t work on devices, only that you cannot login to them using Clever.
