What is a game stage?
Two of our games have different stages of difficulty that can be set through your Teach Your Monster account on our website. Stages can be set for individual players, players within a group or for all players.
Which games allow you to change a player’s game stage?
Currently, stages can only be set for two of our games; Teach Your Monster to Read and Teach Your Monster Number Skills.
Why change a player’s game stage?
Every player has different levels of ability and confidence. As your child or class progress through Teach Your Monster to Read or Teach Your Monster Number Skills, you may wish to adjust their game stage to better suit their current abilities.
How to change a player’s game stage in the apps
Please note that it is currently not possible to change a player’s game stage within the Teach Your Monster to Read or the Teach Your Monster Number Skills apps. It is only possible to change an existing player’s game stage via your Teach Your Monster account on our website, as described below.
How to change a player’s game stage on our website
You can set your player’s game stage via your Teach Your Monster account on our website. Here’s how:
Log in to your user account and navigate to your Players & Groups dashboard.
Find the player you'd like to change the game stage for.
Click the 3 dots icon to the right of their name.
4. Select Change game stage
5. Select which game you would like to change the stage for and press Select game.
6. Choose which stage you'd like to set for them. You can press the More button on each stage for greater detail about the educational content of each stage.

7. Press Set stage to confirm your choice. The next time this player starts the game they will now be playing at this stage level.
How to change stage for all players in a group
You can set a game stage for all players in a specific group via your Teach Your Monster account on our website. Here’s how:
Log in to your user account and navigate to your Players & Groups dashboard.
Find the group you’d like to set the stage for and click the Group actions button.
3. Select Change stage for group members.
4. Select which game you would like to change the stage for (currently stages can only be set for Teach Your Monster to Read and Teach Your Monster Number Skills) and press Select game.
5. Choose which stage you'd like to set for the group. You can press the More button on each stage for greater detail about the educational content of each stage.
6. Press Set stage to confirm your choice. The next time this group’s players start the game they will now be playing at this stage level.
How to change stage for all players
You can set a game stage for all players through your Teach Your Monster account on our website. Here’s how:
Log in to your user account and navigate to your Players & Groups dashboard.
Find the Actions button at the top of the dashboard.
3. Select Change stage for all players.
4. Select which game you would like to change the stage for (currently stages can only be set for Teach Your Monster to Read and Teach Your Monster Number Skills) and press Select game.
5. Choose which stage you'd like to set for all players. You can press the More button on each stage for greater detail about the educational content of each stage.
6. Press Set stage to confirm your choice. The next time all players start the game they will now be playing at this stage level.
